Title Deciders Bring Excitement to Telford Sunday 6-a-side

It was an unbelievable finale to our Telford Sunday 6-a-side season as the teams put on show of exhilarating action to end our current season. Spectators experienced a high-octane blend of football as teams from both divisions clashed on the pitch.

In the Premier League, in a title decider, Polonia Telford gained revenge on Rowdy FC for their defeat earlier in the season, beating them by 3 goals to 1 in a terrific performance. The result ensured they snatched the title from their opponents on goal difference and ended Rowdy's unbeaten run at the league. Goals from Michal, Marcin K and captain Krzysztof were enough to secure the points with Reuben scoring a consolation for Rowdy following a great move. Congratulations to Polonia, who secure their maiden title following a string of victories. Rowdy will no doubt regroup and aim to regain their crown in the coming season ahead.

Meanwhile, the Division 1 games were nothing short of spectacular. The Ercall Ultras found themselves on the back foot, suffering a 1-4 defeat against Inter The Pub. In form Inter swept their opponents aside with goals from Andy, Cam x2 and Lewis with Simon replying for Ercall. Inter finish the season in 3rd and will use this as springboard for a division 1 title push next season whilst Ercall will look to shore up defensively to begin grabbing some wins of their own.

In an end to end classic, Real Estates and Pretty in Pink ended their seasons with a mesmerising 7 - 7 draw. Real Estates scored their goals through Shaun and the prolific Dan, who bagged 5 on the night. Whilst Norbert, Ryan x2 and the equally dangerous Bobby, who banged in 4 goals, completing the scoring for Pretty in Pink. Both sides finish the season in the lower reaches of the table and will look to make improvements next time around.

In the final and most dramatic match of the evening, Already promoted Sunday Sixes and Unathletic Bilbao clashed in what was to be a title decider. There was very little to separate the 2 sides with Liam and Andy notching goals for Sixes and Brad and leading scorer Liam scoring for Bilbao in a 2 2 stalemate. The 2 sides elected to go to a penalty shootout to decide the league winner rather than going to goal difference. SIxes keeper Jordan was to be the hero, saving 2 penalties to secure his side a dramatic last day victory. Both sides will carry great form into the Premier League next season where they will look to compete at the higher end of the table.
