It was great to see all teams in attendance for some cracking Monday night 6 a side football at One Leisure in St Neots. It was a shame to hear of a yellow card for SMD in their fixture for verbal dissent, which is not tolerated.
Premier Division
The first game of the night was a strong DCDC side against a makeshift Beer Bellies side. Three goals for Nathan, one for James Thomas and one for Matt Larkman paid out for DCDC as they kept a clean sheet in a 5-0 victory.
Our second game of the night was Aston Villagers against Dolce & Lallana. Aston Villagers struggled in the division last season, but a strong start saw Alex Le Frenais bag one and Peter Colebrook getting two with goals in reply for Dolce & Lallana from Alfie and Ewan Andrews leading the Villagers to a second win of the season.
The last game of the night was between Tekkerslovakia and SMD, the two strongest teams in Division One last season. With SMD down a few players, Tekkerslovakia took full advantage with goals from Zach Wilson, two from Sami Sawyer and a worldie from Reuben Snooks. SMD kept trying to play and this saw them create chances and Ellis Ogle managed to get two for himself on the scoresheet, but it finished 5-2 to Tekkerslovakia.
Division One
All the Gear No Idea FC turned up with their gear last night, but unfortunately a night to forget for them as Law Abiding Sigurdssons managed to fashion chance after chance. Three for Evan Walker and one a piece for Ben Stokes, Louis Thornton, James Geary and Oliver Wilson saw Sigurdssons take the win 7-0.
The Kiddos took on New Boys FC in our second game of the night in Division One, but it was a strong and disciplined performance from the New Boys that saw goals from Jez Huggins and Raph Borinuolu that put them out of sight of The Kiddos who only managed one through Archie Collins.
Our last fixture of the night in Division One was Grop United against Inter Yournan. It was a tough night for Grop United as a hattrick from Ollie, two for Jordan Holdaway and one for Miles and Josh Wischhusen saw Inter Yournan take the points in a 7-0 win.
