It was great to see all teams in attendance apart from the departing Beer Bellies from the Premier Division, we wish them the best and look forward to seeing them soon. We would like to welcome new side KRBodge managed by team captain Aiden Howard to the Premier Division after playing with Leisure Leagues locally.
Premier Division
Our first game of the night was our runners up from last season Dolce & Lallana against last years winners DCDC FC. Dolce & Lallana played some good football with goals from Alfie Medlow and Patrick Nowinski, but it was Nathan and Matt Larkman who really made the difference for DCDC FC as they bagged two each to take the game 4-2.
Tekkerslovakia notched up their second win of the season in a points match 5-0 victory against Beer Bellies, with Law Abiding Sigurdssons filling in for us on this occasion who put a strong performance in, showing their desire to get back to the Premier Division.
Our last game of the night in the Premier Division was a goal fest between SMD and Aston Villagers. The Villagers usually a strong defensive outfit shipped 8 goals this game week as George Grant found the net 4 times, Rob Millward bagged a hattrick and Josh Hawker got on the score sheet. Goals in reply from Peter Colebrook, Ashley Pridee and Alex Le Frenais could only soften the blow as SMD win 8-3.
Division One
Law Abiding Sigurdssons continued their dominant run of form against The Kiddos as Sigurdssons kept a clean sheet in a fixture full of goals. A hattrick from Evan Walker, two from Oliver Wilson and Henry Thornton and one from James Geary secured the points in an 8-0 victory for Sigurdssons keeping them at the top of the table.
Inter Yournan took on ATG No Idea FC in a thrilling game of football. Inter Yournan got in front through goals from Jack Hall, Josh Wischhusen and Kieran Preston, but goal of the night went to Ben Butterwick. A long cross to the back stick was met by Butterwick on the first time side volley across the goalkeeper and into the top bins leaving the Inter Yournan keeper with no chance, a goal you'd expect to see on the international stage. Unfortunately ATG No Idea FC lost the match 3-1, but a morale victory for goal of the night has to be worth it.
Our last fixture of the night was New Boys FC against Grop United. A very tight game between two sides who played some excellent football, but it was Grop United who came out on top with a single goal scored by the new addition to the squad, Ryley Pook as Grop United secured their first win.
