It was great to see all teams in attendance this week for the last game week of the season. It was disappointing to hear of abusive language towards the referees on separate occasions. Abusive language towards the referee will not be tolerated, without the referees there are no games and teams that think that is acceptable will not be welcome in our leagues.
Premier Division
Priory who were top of the table coming into the last fixture faced off against a determined DCDC side. Two goals from Priory and four goals from DCDC secured the points and their place at the top of the table as they win the Premier Division title from last season's winners. Congratulations DCDC FC.
Law Abiding Sigurdssons came up against Dolce & Lallana in a game full of goals as Sigurdssons bagged two, but with four goals in reply for from Dolce & Lallana meant that they walked away 4-2 winners.
A highly contested fixture between Aston Villagers and Cambridgeshire Hunter and both teams with a point to prove meant that it was an end to end game, with three goals each for Aston Villagers and Cambridgeshire Hunter meant that it ended in a 3-3 draw.
Division One
SMD in high spirits took on a New Boys FC in a fine run of form, however this form was stopped in its tracks as SMD scored three. A single goal in reply from New Boys FC from meant that it finished 3-1 to SMD.
The Kiddos took on Inter Yournan in our second fixture of the night in Division One, and it was two goals from Inter Yournan that really made the difference. A valiant performance from the Kiddos could not stop Inter Yournan taking all the points.
Our last fixture of the night was a battle for second place in Division One between Beer Bellies and Tekkerslovakia. A dominant performance from Tekkerslovakia meant that they secured the points with four goals in a 4-0 win.
Due to the queen's funeral on the 19th September and it being a bank holiday with One Leisure closed for the night, the start of the new season will begin on the 26th of September. We look forward to seeing all teams then.
