Weekly update from St Neots a side league

It was goals galore at our weekly six a side league at One Leisure, with teams battling it out in game week 6. It was great to see new team Cambridgeshire Hunter joining us this week and we wish departing team Inter Mynan all the best. It was disappointing to hear of a fine for dissent for Priory FC, at Leisure Leagues our ref support is second to none and without refs, we wouldn't have any games.

Premier Division

Cambridgeshire Hunter started us off against DCDC in our first fixture of the night. Although it was their first game in our league, the new boys hit the ground running with Cambridgeshire Hunter man Callum Irvine was described as unplayable, bagging a hattrick in his first outing. Single goals from Jack Garwood and Nathan George alongside two for Archie Jones meant that Cambridgeshire Hunter picked up the points with a 7-2 victory, with two goals in reply for Sully for DCDC.

Dolce & Lallana against Aston Villagers was our second game of the night, with Dolce & Lallana putting up a valiant effort and working their socks off with only five players and no subs led by Alfie. Aston Villagers did not take the man advantage for granted, as two goals for Lewis Griffiths, Peter Colebrook and one from Alex La Frenais with a hattrick from Patrick Nowinski for Dolce meant that Aston Villagers ran out 5-3 victors.

Our last game of the night was between Law Abiding Sigurdssons and Priory FC, a top versus bottom clash. A sublime 20 yard strike from Joe Parr for Law Abiding Sigurdssons was unfortunately not enough to take any points, as goals for Kyle Morris and Luke Fox for Priory was enough for them to walk away with the points in a 2-1 win, taking a 2 point lead at the top of the table.f

Division 1

Tekkerslovakia took on Inter Yournan with a point to prove on their march up the table. Tekkerslovakia found success through hattricks from Oli Swinscoe and Dan Ellis alongside a single goal for Zach Wilson, although Inter Yournan caused problems for Tekkerslovakia through two goals for Alec B and one for Miles, it was not enough, as Tekkerslovakia took both points in a 7-3 win.

SMD put on another strong performance against The Kiddos after going down to 5 players early through injury. Moomith Ullah set on taking top goalscorer in Division 1 bagged eight taking him to 20 for the season, whilst teammate Rob Millward picked up two with singular goals from Rob Coles, Harry Higgins and Jack. The Kiddos could only muster one in reply and fell short in a 13-1 win for SMD.

It was a tough night for New Boys FC, as late dropouts meant that they struggled for a side but thankfully managed to pick up a few late substitutes from The Kiddos. Beer Bellies aiming to cement their second place finish in the league put new boys to the sword with six goals for Richard Hart, Aaron Morgan with four, Garson and Troy Beavis with three and one goal for Carlos. New Boys kept trying to put in a shift and a hattrick from late substitute James, alongside Tom Townsend and Grzegorz Wirgowski putting in the yards for New Boys could not stop them from coming out on bottom in a 17-3 loss against Beer Bellies.
