WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 10TH OCTOBER

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with all teams in attendance as expected.

We also welcomed new team 'Wonders FC' who put in a great showing during their first game and will be looking to build on this in the weeks to come. Good luck to the team moving forward!

Game of the night in the Premier Division was the game between 'FC Mil Funters' and 'Bigos Amigos'. Only the one goal scored to separate the teams, but both have big aspirations for the season ahead and played out a cracker of a game as 'FC Mil Funters' were able to take the 1-0 win. With this result they jump above their opponents in the league table, but both are looking to catch league leaders 'Whykanteiwin' in the weeks to come.

Division One game of the night was the hard-fought contest between 'Bandits FC' and 'Saka Potatoes'. Five goals and some brilliant play by both teams saw 'Saka Potatoes' come out with the 3-2 win and climb to third in the process. Fantastic work from a newly formed single player team that only met for the first time during the first game of the season, next up they face 'Barely Athletic', can they keep up the fine start going?

Team of the week are 'Whykanteiwin' after a dominant display against the new team 'Wolves Nations FC'. Congratulations to the team on winning the prize draw last week and this means they ended the week as they started, in high spirits. As all teams may have noticed the Leisure Leagues Head Office media team were there to congratulate the team on the amazing prize they won.

On a side note, can all teams ensure they are bringing their own balls to warm up with as we are losing too many at the league currently due to people using match balls to warm up with. Match balls are called as such because they are only to be used during the matches taking place at that time.
