A brilliant first night of the new season in the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League with all teams in attendance as expected. It was great to welcome the four new teams as all games were played in good spirits and to a high standard. We wish all teams the best of luck in the season ahead.

The game of the week in the Premier Division this week goes to the closely fought game between 'Lages Lads' and 'Dangerous Darren', a close and tight affair between two teams that will run each other close every time they play. 'Lages Lads' ran out 1-0 winners on the first night of the season and will go into week two full of confidence and looking to build on this brilliant start. Can 'Dangerous Darren' get revenge the next time the two sides meet?

In Division One the game of the night was between 'Straight Outta Compton' and 'Newhampton FC'. Two teams facing each other for the second time and will be looking for promotion this season but it was 'Newhampton FC' who came out on top 3-1 to start the season off well. They will be looking to build on this as the season progresses and continue the form they have started with. The do have a name change when it comes to the season ahead so they become Bosted Utd' for the second games of the season. Good luck with the name change!

Team of the week this week are early league leaders of the Premier DIvision 'Khalsa FC'. A fine performance after the first week means they are the ones to watch even at this early stage. In a clinical display they will be looking to build on this result for the season ahead as they are top after week one.

The league is now off and will return Monday 26th September 2022 after the bank holiday Monday for the Queen's funeral. Can all teams please follow the fixtures on the website ready for this game!
