WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 15TH AUGUST 22

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

Great to see some wonderful games played throughout the evening during the Wolverhampton Monday League. It was however very disappointing that 'Yam Yam Army' were unable to fulfil their fixture. The league will be in contact with the team to confirm there return next week. It is paramount that all teams are present for each and every fixture and if not try their hardest to contact the area manager in a sufficient amount of time in order for the league to run smoothly and effectively each week.

In more positive news, in was fantastic to welcome new team 'Filey' for there first game and they put in a strong performance in there first week. We wish them all the best moving forward in the league!

Game of the night in the Premier Division goes to the game between 'FC Mil Funters' and 'FC Springhill', as both went toe and toe and were very close on a number of occasions.  It was 'FC Springhill' who stole the 1-0 victory at the end and again showed how close the teams are in this league. With this result we would like to congratulate 'Unathletic Madrid FC' who have been crowned as champions with two games to spare, well done!

The Division 1 game of the night goes to the game between 'Oldman Asthmatic' and 'The Goonies'. After going 1-0 up 'The Goonies' took control but 'Oldman Asthmatic' came flying back to win the game 3-1. With two games to go two teams sit on the same points at the top of Division 1 and are due to face each other on the last game of the season. 

Team of the week goes to 'Newhampton FC', a very comanding performance on the night sees them two points behind the top two with two games to go. Can they close the gap with a win over 'Oldman Asthmatic' next week?

As a side note, it has been noted that there are a couple of floodlights that do not work at the venue. I am in the process of sorting a date when these are getting fixed in order to share with you guys so we avoid any problems with games moving forward.
