A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with some fantastic games throughout.
Unfortunately there was a non-attendance on the night as ‘Bigos Amigos’ were not present for their fixture. As this was the teams second non-attendance in a row the team have been removed with immediate effect as per the terms and conditions. We did also have ‘Sean Dyche Brexit Ball FC’ not present after giving the required 7 days notice and we look forward to having them back next week. It is paramount all teams are present each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each and every week, if there are any problems then be sure to contact your Area Manager in plenty of time.
In more positive news it was great to welcome three new teams ‘Bushbury Hill FC’, ‘The Way’ and ‘KFC W1mbledon’. All put in great performances for the first week and we wish them all the best of luck moving forward in the league!
The game of the evening this week in the Premier League was an epic 11-goal thriller 7-4 win for 'FC Mil Funters' over 'Saka Potatoes' as the two teams fought it out right until the final whistle. Despite both teams performing exceptionally well it was 'FC Mil Funters' who were able to come out on top on this occasion. With their first win under their belt they will now be looking to build on this in the weeks to come, next up 'Sean Dyche Brexit Ball FC'.
Division One game of the night was the game between 'Pendeford Unathletic FC' and 'Wolves Nations FC'. Just one goal separated the two teams and they both performed their hardest to outdo their opponents however in the end it was Wolves Nations FC' who took the 2-1 victory. It will be interesting to see if we have the same result when the two teams meet again later in the season.
In Division Two we had some exhilarating games and the game of the week was new team 'Bushbury Hill FC’ against 'Oldman Asthmatic' where 'Bushbury Hill FC' came away with a 1-0 victory over their opposition. It was a fantastic end-to-end game that could have saw more goals with some more clinical finishing but 'Bushbury Hill FC' were able to pip it in the end. It will be great to see these two teams face each other again at a later date and ultimately see who would come out on top in that game.
The team of the week this week is given 'Boston Bilston' as they provided an incredible game in the league where they beat last seasons Premier League winners ‘Filey’ 3-1! Is this a sign of what's to come as the weeks go on in this league, only time will tell.
Due to high demand the league will be extending again on Monday 19th June 2023 with only TWO SPACES left! Keep up to date with all the news via facebook and instagram to take part in the best 6-aside league in your area.
