WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 19TH DECEMBER

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with some fantastic games throughout.

We did have one non-attendance as 'Oldman Asthmatic' gave the seven days' notice required to not be present for their fixture. We look forward to having them back after the Christmas break.

Game of the evening in the Premier League saw a victory for 'Dangerous Darren' as they beat 'Bigos Amigos'. In a battle of two evenly matched sides it is always a game that could go either way, but it was 'Dangerous Darren' who were able to keep up their slim chances of a second placed finish. They go into the final game of the season against second placed 'Mil Funters FC' knowing only a big win will be enough for the second placed finish, unlikely but possible.

Division 1 game of the week could really have been any of the games, but it was the 3-1 win for 'Bostin Bliston' and 'Straight Outta Compton' that takes it. In a feisty game it was the new team that ended 'Straight Outta Compton's chances for promotion this season. Who will be the top two when the season comes to an end and how will 'Bostin Bliston' build on this going into the new season fast approaching.

The team of the week are 'FC Springhill' with a good win against 'Saka Potatoes' on the night. It's been an up and down season but results like this will allow them to ready themselves for the new season ahead. Good luck in the final games of the season!

The league is now off for two weeks due to the Christmas holidays and will return Monday 9th January 2023. We look forward to having you all back playing on this date! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
