WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 22ND AUGUST 22

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with all teams in attendance and some fantastic games throughout.
Unfortunately we did have an incident in the game between 'Filey' and 'The Goonies' when Josh Jackson of 'Filey' was sent from the field of play for being abusive towards the referee. Unfortunately Josh was also abusive towards opponents after the game also so has be fined £20 and banned from the league permanently as the behaviour shown was unacceptable when taking part in a leisure league. It is paramount all teams and players remain in the rules of the league at all times, if not disciplines will be issued swiftly and accordingly in order to look after everyone at the league.
In more positive news, game of the evening in the Premier League saw a victory for 'Khalsa FC' as they beat 'Dangerous Darren'. Having played each other a number of times now and the result ending the same way 'Khalsa FC' were able to come away with a victory for the first time against this opponent. 'Khalsa FC' still have a chance of staying up with one game to go, can they do it?
Division 1 game of the week could really have been any of the games but it was the 3-3 draw between 'Newhampton FC' and 'Oldman Asthmatic' that takes it. 3-0 up and flying 'Oldman Asthmatic' were pegged back by there opponents who were able to claim a 3-3 draw in the end. All to play for in the final games of the season in this Division as any one of three teams can win it.
The team of the week are 'Khalsa FC' for the performance above. They have really started to settle this season and the results are starting to come. Is it too little too late? Or can they climb out of the relegation places at the right time?
The league is now off and will return Monday 26th September 2022 due to the Queen's funeral falling on Monday next week and the centre being closed. We look forward to having you all back playing on this date!
