A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with all teams in attendance and some fantastic games throughout.
Unfortunately, we did have an incident in the game between 'Bandits FC' and 'Filey' when Craig Davies of 'Bandits FC' was sent from the field of play when he showed a bit of physical abuse towards the referee. He has been fined £50 and banned permanently from the league because of this as I'm sure you can all agree that the staff at the league are not there to be abused in anyway. Due to the teams help with the matter they have been allowed to stay, however if there are any problems from the team in future they will be removed with immediate effect. It is paramount all teams and players remain in the rules of the league at all times, if not disciplinary's will be issued swiftly and accordingly in order to look after everyone at the league.
In more positive news, game of the evening in the Premier League saw a victory for 'Wonders FC' as they beat 'Whykanteiwin' in a game which was very close and if it wasn't for a fantastic brace from Yvan the game could have ended a lot differently. It was also a fine comeback victory as the team were behind for most of the game. With 'FC Mil Funters' taking over at the top of this Division who will be top come halfway through the season next week and how much can 'Wonders FC' climb the league if they continue to perform like this?
The Division One game of the night was the game between 'Barely Athletic' and 'Straight Outta Compton'. Two evenly matched teams and have been a part of the game of the week a few times this season, it was 'Barely Athletic' who came out on top on the night 3-1. Up to third they are really settling into the league nicely now and go into a game with 'Bandits FC' next week full of confidence and looking to go into the top two as we hit halfway.
The team of the week are 'FC Mil Funters' as they gained a brilliant result against 'Dangerous Darren' to go top of the Premier League. Goal difference splits them and 'Whykanteiwin' and as we near the halfway stage we look forward to seeing how the season progresses moving forward.
