WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 27TH FEBRUARY
All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.
A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with some fantastic games throughout. We did also welcome new team 'First Owner FC' who were impressive in their first game and will be looking to build on this in the weeks to come. Good luck moving forward in the league!
Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance as 'Striker FC' were not present for their game on the night, the team have confirmed there return next week. It is paramount all teams are at the league each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, if you are having any problems please be sure to contact your Area Manager on what to do.
The game of the evening this week in the Premier League was a 2-1 win for 'Whykanteiwin' over 'Dangerous Darren' as the two teams fought it out right until the final whistle. Despite both teams performing exceptionally well it was the 2nd placed team that got the win in the end and continue to have a very good season. Next up is 'Bigos Amigos' who have been very up and down the last few weeks so the team will have to be on form to beat them.
Division One gave us some exhilarating games but it was the game between new teams 'ECC United' and 'First Owner FC' that goes down as our game of the week. Not a lot to split the two teams but it was 'ECC United' who were able to come out on top 2-1. Two wins out of two to start life in the league they will be looking to extend this good start when they take on 'FC Springhill' next week.
Division Two game of the week was between 'Barely Athletic' and 'Paralytic Athletic'. Only separated by an unfortunate own goal it was the 'Barely Athletic' keeper that shone as they came away with the 1-0 win. Following there first win of the season they go into a game with 'Take Notez FC' full of confidence.
The team of the week this week is given 'Pendeford Unathletic FC' as they provided an incredible performance in order to run out winners against 'Take Notez FC'. One of two teams yet to drop points in this new division they look to go into there game with 'Oldman Asthmatic' next week and continue this fine start, where will they finish come the end of the season?
