WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 3RD OCTOBER

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with all teams in attendance as expected. We also welcomed new team 'Wolves Nations FC' to the league, and it was great to see them put in such a good performance in their first game. Good luck in the league moving forward!

Game of the week in the Premier League this week was the game between 'Lages Lads' and FC Mil Funters'. Two teams that have title aspirations this season went toe to toe in a very competitive game, but it was 'Lages Lads' who were able to come out on top with the 3-2 win. 'Due to the sacking of Bruno Lage at Molineux this week they have made the choice to change their name to 'Whykanteiwin' as of next week so good luck to them with this. We look forward to seeing how these two teams do when they meet again later in the season.

Division One game of the week was the game 'Saka Potatoes' and 'Straight Outta Compton' to start the night. Two evenly matched teams played out a very entertaining 6-goal thriller with 'Saka Potatoes' coming out 4-2 winners in the end. Two points off top and a game against 'Bandits FC' next week can 'Saka Potatoes' find themselves in the top two after next week's games?

Team of the week are 'Bigos Amigos' as they ran out 4-0 winners against 'Khalsa FC' to sit top of the Premier League. One of three teams still to drop a point over both divisions they are top of the Premier League and go into a clash with 'FC Mil Funters' full of confidence, who will come out on top as 'FC Mil Funters' look to bounce back next week?

As a side note please can all teams ensure there is NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOL to bought or consumed on site as per the terms of conditions that the centre set out in order for us to use the pitch. Anybody found doing this will be asked to leave and possibly risk losing their teams place in the league as the actions of the few may cause the booking to be cancelled and therefore impact the many.
