The Southampton Thursday 6-a-side Football league is heating up as we pass the halfway mark of the season. Week 5 brought a flurry of action and excitement across all three divisions.
In Division 1, UNION 6’s came out on top against 50 Shades Of John 'O' Shea with a decisive 3-0 victory. The battle between Hello You Kante and Lallana Rhodes ended in a stalemate, with both defenses holding strong, resulting in a 0-0 draw.
Moving on to Division 2, Nottingham Florist proved their mettle with a 2-0 win over Crouch Potatos. Despite a spirited performance, Crouch Potatos couldn't find the back of the net, falling short against the superior defense of Nottingham Florist.
Division 3 was a whirlwind of action and goals. Chartwell Green made their mark with a narrow 1-0 win over Who Wet The Bednarek, while Tekkerslovakia edged past Fat-Letico Madrid with a 1-0 win. The highlight of the division was undoubtedly the game between Ji-Sung Park The Bus and No Your Limits, which ended in a high-scoring 5-3 victory for Ji-Sung Park The Bus.
With such a thrilling week of football, picking the most valued player was no easy task. However, it was Philip Bishop from COLONEL GETAFE who stole the spotlight. His exceptional performance and contribution to his team's success made him the standout player of the week.
Unfortunately, the top scorers for each division were not revealed. Nonetheless, with the level of competition we saw this week, we can expect some real goal-fest in the coming weeks.
As we head into Week 6, teams across all divisions will be looking to solidify their positions or climb the ladder. In a league as unpredictable as this, we're sure to be in for some more exciting football.
