The long-awaited Southampton Thursday 6-a-side football league kicked off in spectacular fashion last night, with teams from Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 showing their prowess on the pitch. As the season got underway, fans were treated to a dazzling display of teamwork and individual brilliance that sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting season.
In Division 1, UNION 6's triumphed over 50 Shades Of John 'O' Shea with a 2-0 victory. Meanwhile, Hello You Kante demonstrated their scoring ability with a resounding 5-1 win against Nottingham Florist, and Mutual Friends trounced Lallana Rhodes 6-1.
The battle was just as fierce in Division 2, with Tekkerslovakia dominating Chartwell Green - Two Brothers FC 3-0, and COLONEL GETAFE annihilating SPORTING VIEW B with an unexpected 7-0 victory. Crouch Potatos also managed to secure a comfortable 2-0 win against FC Bumfica.
Division 3 saw the team Who Wet The Bednarek secure a decisive 4-0 victory over Chetan Ruparell, while No Your Limits and Ji-Sung Park The Bus battled to a 1-1 draw.
Amidst the thrilling matches, there was one player who stood out from the rest. Ben Townsend from Who Wet The Bednarek was awarded the Most Valued Player of the Week for his exceptional performance on the field.
