Another lovely evening to kick off the Portchester Monday 6 a side season. How will the promoted sides fair in the big time and can the relegated sides bounce back at the first attempt? All teams were in attendance last night although we do currently have a space available in Div 1 if any new teams are interested.
The early leaders in the Premier League are Line Up Lads who started the season off with a 6-1 victory over newly promoted Smurfit Kappa. Champions Swan Lake got their campaign off to a winning start with a solid performance against Div 1 Champions Up the Gull winning 3-0, this was Up the Gull's first defeat for over 3 months showing how hard the jump up to the Premier League can be. Both promoted sides will be hoping to bounce back next week. In the other two matches there was a 3-1 win for last seasons runners up AFC Baldham while Stinging Rogers also got off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Big Show.
In Div 1 title favourites Victor Moses Lawn got off to a flying by beating What Happened? 9-0 while due to the space in the league Flat Top VI go second with a 5-0 points match win. The match of the day was between Paula United and Chocolate Ba's and Corn Eto's as they played out a 7 goal thriller with Chocolate Ba's coming out victorious. Finally to finish our round up a rare site at 6 a side football, a 0-0 draw between Fareham Town Vets (Lucky Dip) against Haven't Got a Kalou.
As mentioned above there is a space available in Div 1 for a new team. If interested please register your team for free at the link below or contact Rich on 07969731086 with any questions. There is also a free kit for the next team to sign up!
