Despite the somewhat sombre mood of the nation this week, our Monday night teams all gave their all at our Portchester 6 a side league last night. Thank you to all the players and staff for observing a minutes silence in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II before we kicked off.
Next week there will be no games as the country comes to a halt for the state funeral and the King has quite rightly declared it a bank holiday. We will of course return to action on Monday 26th September.
It was of course a great night of celebration for Swan Lake who were crowned as CHAMPIONS of the Monday night league, finishing the season with their 100% record in tact having scored an incredible 124 goals while conceding just 10 - they really have become an unstoppable force in this league and congratulations go to them on collecting another title.
Last night also saw wins for Occasionally United - who came away with a 6 - 3 scoreline in their favour, Dean Charles netting 4, against Mirror Signal Malouda while Who Asked had a great night against Bundaland. Stu amongst the scorers with 5 in his teams comfortable 15 - 0 win.
Big thanks to Dan, Con, Ty, Mike and others who have all officiated this season, it's been a tricky one but hopefully some more teams will get involved for the new season. Can anyone topple Swan Lake though ?
