END OF SEASON REPORT
Congratulations to UTF for lifting the Premier League title in Portchester's Monday Night 6 a side football league, it was a great season for them, finishing with 25 points to claim the title ahead of previous winners Swan Lake. On the final night both sides did all they could with Swan Lake picking up the points against new side Goulpar FC with a 13 - 3 win (Elliot Roberts 6, Bradley Smith 4) But UTF did enough to hold on, getting past Mirror Signal Malouda 5 - 3 to secure the title. Murder On Zidanes Floor finished 3rd and Swan Lake Reserves 4th. Mirror Signal Malouda will hope to bounce straight back after failing to hold onto their place in the Prem, they will play in Division One next season.
Their place will be taken by Put Matip In who have won the Division One title by just a point from Rafa Cakes with both teams winning their final games. Rafa Cakes edging past No Show Harris 4 - 3 to secure promotion but it wasn't enough to dislodge Matip who deserve to get their hands on the trophy following a tidy 3 - 1 win over Is Your Motherwell. Congratulations to them and to Rafa Cakes and good luck to both teams in the Premier League next season. Borussia Donmund hang onto 3rd despite going down 5 - 3 to Who Asked FC, Kurtis Stallard with a hattrick for Who Asked who finished 4th. What Happened finished the season strongly with a 12 - 2 win over FullerBeer, Glassey netting 5 and Jake 4 for the What Happened team.
The golden boot awards this season go to Eliot Roberts from Swan Lake who bagged 34 goals this term and to Rhys from Borussia Donmund with 20 goals in Division One. Don't forget to submit your goal scorers each week, we can only publish the information we get given so if you want to win awards, we need to know who has scored!
So thats it, thank you to all the captains for your commitment throughout the season, having regular sides playing week in week out makes these league work best and I'm really pleased with how this season has gone.
We still have a few spaces to fill which hopefully will happen before next weeks season openers but if not we are always grateful to teams helping out by playing points matches when needed.
Thanks to Shane, Con and Zach for everything they have done this season, lets make sure the next one is just as good, if not even better.
Well done to the league title winners and to the runners up as well as the golden boot winners, really can't wait for the new season to start, the fixtures will be out very soon !
