PORTCHESTER THURSDAY 6 A SIDE RESULTS - MATCH DAY 7
The excitement and competitiveness of the Portchester Thursday Football League continued this week with a series of exhilarating matches across three divisions: Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2. With top-class football on display, teams battled it out to secure crucial victories in their pursuit of league glory.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, we were treated to two intense matches. Lads On Toure narrowly missed out on victory as AFC Purbrook edged them out with a scoreline of 4-3. The star of the match was Pepe Rowland, who proved to be a lethal finisher by netting three goals for AFC Purbrook, becoming the top scorer in the division for the week.
In another Premier League fixture, Skertals faced off against Hallin Garden Services. Skertals emerged victorious with a 4-2 win, showcasing their attacking flair throughout the game with 4 different scorers.
DIVISION ONE
Division 1 witnessed equally enthralling encounters. BSC Hung Boys are the new leaders as they dominated Happy Sunflowers with a commanding 5-1 victory. Simon Copps stood out for BSC Hung Boys, scoring two goals to help them to victory.
Pup657 put up a strong fight against Cob Fc, but ultimately succumbed to a 2-1 defeat in a fiercely contested match while The Six Offenders picked up a 5-0 win with Sum Ting Wong away.
DIVISION TWO
Division 2 provided a feast of goals and dramatic moments. Cross Keys FC proved their worth with a resounding 5-0 triumph over Netsix And Chill. Dylan Hartley showcased his goal-scoring capabilities, scoring a hat-trick for Star & Garter FC, however they narrow lost 5-4 against Wallington, a defeat that see's their opponents go above them to the top of the table on goal difference. Hartley's impressive hat-trick did secure his position as the top scorer in Division 2 for the week. In another thriller Pant edged it against Maradonakebab 5-4 to remain two points outside the top two.
Notably, Zak Goodyear from BSC Hung Boys was recognised as the Most Valued Player for his outstanding performance in Division 1. Goodyear's contribution played a vital role in BSC Hung Boys' emphatic win.
The Portchester Thursday Football League continues to provide thrilling football and remains a testament to the talent and passion within the local footballing community.
