As the Portchester Thursday 6 a side Football League kicked off its new season last night, fans were treated to a high-octane display of football, packed with goals, thrill, and excitement.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, the spectators witnessed a goal-fest as The Six Offenders defeated AFC Purbrook with a 10-7 scoreline. Louie Jones was the star of the match, netting an impressive three goals for The Six Offenders to claim the top scorer spot for the division in this opening week. In other matches, Sergio Gameos Lee triumphed over Borussia Donmund 3-1 while Project Zeus edged out BSC Hung Boys in a closely-fought 3-2 match.
DIVISION ONE
Meanwhile, in Division 1, there was no shortage of action either. The match between Portchy Royals and Cathy's Crew ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw. Cob FC showed their dominance with a 4-0 drubbing of Pants, while Gyattlatasary earned a narrow 5-4 victory against Packet Of Qrwisps. Maradonakebab started their campaign on a high note with a resounding 6-1 win over Man Tity.
Joe White of Packet of Qrwisps emerged as the top scorer in Division 1, scoring 2 goals in their opening match.
The opening week's results indicate that this season is set to be as fiercely contested and unpredictable as ever. The teams are off to a strong start, and the competition seems to be heating up.
