The Portchester Thursday 6-a-side Football League was back in action again last night, showcasing the skills and competitive spirit in its seventh week. The atmosphere was electric as teams in the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2 divisions locked horns, aiming to climb the leaderboard.
In the Premier League clashes, AFC Purbrook fell short with a 3-2 defeat against Sergio Gameos Lee. The Skertals, however, pulled off a nail-biting 4-3 victory over Lads On Toure. Another close encounter saw Happy Sunflowers edge out BSC Hung Boys 2-1. The standout player in this grade was Perry Andrews from the Skertals, who led the score charts with a brilliant 4 goals.
Division 1 saw a lopsided contest where Cob FC was handed a resounding 10-2 defeat by The Six Offenders. Lightfoot FC, on the other hand, secured a 3-1 triumph over Project Zeus. The offensive brilliance of Rhys Muldrew from The Six Offenders was in full display as he netted 4 goals, becoming the top scorer in this division.
Meanwhile, in Division 2, the Pants outclassed Pup657 with a commanding 8-1 victory. In a closely-fought battle, Maradonakebab clinched a 2-1 win against Netsix And Chill. Ewan Mclean of the Pants emerged as the top scorer with a stunning 5 goals.
The competition is heating up as we approach the business end of the season, and teams across all divisions are vying hard to secure their top spots. With the competition intensifying, we certainly have some exciting weeks of football ahead of us.
