In an exciting week of the Portchester Thursday 6-a-side Football league, week 9 saw some thrilling matches and impressive individual performances.
In the Premier League division, Lads On Toure secured a convincing 3-0 victory over AFC Purbrook. Skertals showed their dominance by scoring six goals against BSC Hung Boys, whose defense conceded six goals while only managing to return a single one. The star performer for the Premier League division was undoubtedly Kieran from Skertals, who stood tall among the rest with a total of four goals under his belt. Sergio remain top having had to take a night off due to the late withdrawal of Sunflowers. We welcome new side Bumfica FC to the league for next week in place of Sunflowers and they will see out the season and start to prepare for their 1st full season.
The Division 1 matches were equally intense, with Cob Fc and Borussia Donmund ending their match in a 2-2 draw. The Six Offenders, despite showing spirited effort, fell short to a powerful Project Zeus team that scored an overwhelming 11 goals in contrast to just four from their rivals. Wallington narrowly edged past Lightfoot Fc with a 5-4 victory. The shining star of Division 1 was Lewis Shan from Project Zeus, who contributed significantly to their victory with an impressive tally of four goals.
The Division 2 matches were also packed with action, seeing Pants overcoming Cross Keys FC with a 3-0 win. Havent Jota Clue scored four goals to secure a win against Netsix And Chill, who managed to score two. In a closely contested match, Maradonakebab managed a narrow 5-4 victory over Yardee FC. Neil Thorpe from Pants was the standout performer in Division 2, with three goals to his name.
