Sergio one step closer to Portchester Thurs 6 a side title
Thank you to all teams down at our Portchester Thursday 6 a side league. All were in attendance apart from Lads On Toure who only let us know at very late notice. Just a polite reminder to all teams please remember to organise your side well in advance of your match. If you are one or two short you can use guest players to make up a 6. It's not fair on your opponents who have turned up to play so please don't leave it until the last minute to sort your team out.
We have now started to introduce the new top goalscorer feature to Portchester. From the trials we have done at other leagues once the supervisors and captains get used to doing it the competition for the golden boot in each division becomes another great bit of competition for the players and has proved very popular with players, especially the strikers obviously so please make sure you give your first name and surname to the supervisor at the end of your game to add to the system.
With just one week to go of the current season Sergio Gameos Lee look odds on to retain their title. Last night they came through a potentially tricky fixture with HMS St Albans to win 3-1. Due to Lads On Toure not being there second place Viking FC picked up a 5-0 points match win. Stroke Titty also picked up a points match win last night while the other league fixture saw Happy Sunflowers get the only goal of the game against PPS.
In Div 1 congratulations go to Roach on Toast who secured the title last night as they defeated Wanyama's In Pyjamas 2-1 with goals from Taylor and Murray. AFC Baldy came through a match with Pants that could of gone either way to win 5-4 and take the runners up spot in the division and promotion to the Premier League. The other matches both ended in 1-1 draws as Portchy Pantherz played Jimmy Floyd Bottle Bank while Foxes met Kalou.
