THURSDAY 6 A SIDE BACK IN PORTCHESTER

Following a delayed return due to issues with the floodlights at Portchester Community School it was great to finally be back to some 6 a side in Portchester. Our teams gathered last night to continue the season from where we left it before the festive break and Division One leaders Happy Sunflowers were right on it from the kick off as they comfortably took the points against AFC Goodworks. Sam Stoddart was in razor sharp form in front of goal, helping himself to 8 of his teams 9 goals to maintain the 2 point lead at the top of the table. Chicken Tikka also won, Ryan Morgan on target twice for them in the 4 - 1 win over Pants while Cob FC enjoyed a happy return to action with a 4 - 2 win against BSC Hung Boys. The Prem saw 3 comfortable wins with Sergio showing their class with a big win over James Pain who will be very happy to drop to Division One next season. Lads On Toure took a 5 - 0 win from their game with Full Kit Wonkers and AFC Purbrook won 4 - 0 against Sigurdsson's to round off a great 1st night back of 2023.

This league is ready to grow and we have 4 new teams lined up to start a new mini division from next week. Their season will only be short but it will help us place them in the right division for the new full season that isn't far away.
