It was a miserable night weather wise at our East Cowes Sunday 6 a side but credit to all 24 teams for turning out and hats off to our refs for their efforts in the pouring rain.
Premier League leaders Bacon Sane were given a run for their money by Eskimo FC as goals were exchanged right up until the end when Sane got the 14th goal of the game to give them a 8-6 win and keep them top. Top scorer Billy Chugg got another two to add to 5 strikes from Brandon Hayward and a goal for Lenny Dunkling. Eskimo goals came from James Gallop 3, Rich Scott 2 and a banger from Joss Atkins. Dangerous Dogs kept up the pace with Sane as they ran out comfortably 9-0 winners against FC Union Street. Brad Thomas smashing in a hat-trick while Joe Stevens, Max Foreman and Connel Groom all bagged a couple each. Wkd N Bad won an 11 goal thriller 6-5 against Netsix & Chill to move up to third place while Bacuna Matata halved their goals conceded total from last week as they only went down 11-2 this week to No Shot FC. Connor Furmidge and Scott Macfarlane scored hat-tricks while Jordan Foakes and Brandon Thomas both got doubles along with a goal from captain Josh Morris. Not forgetting Bacuna's goals from Ethan Brierley and Jordan Westwood.
Old McInnes racked up another win in Div 1 as captain Nic Johnson rolled back the years with two strikes in a 4-2 win over Applepie Turnovers helped by goals from Dan Johnson and Cian Mcgee. Ryde Raconteurs moved up into the top two after also winning 4-2, their victory came against Vectis Rovers who suffered their first defeat of the season. Goals from Matt Oxenham and Steven Deakin helped AC Me Rollin take a share of the points in a 2-2 draw with OFOB Strollers while an entertaining encounter between SOTV Zulus and Sancho's and Cheese saw Zulus pick up a 8-6 win.
A Simon Knight hat-trick for Badder Roma wasn't enough to halt the charge of Hardly Athletic in Div 2 as Hardly ran out 10-3 winners. Captain Lee Hardwick scoring 3 along with goals from Gallop 4, E Johnson, G Johnson and Byrnes. Aiden Sheerin hit a double hat-trick as Boys in Brew took a 7-3 victory over Haven't Got A Kalou to stay second. We Lose Every Week climb up to third position with a 4-0 win over HeskeyTime96 with goals from Luke Ward, Luke Standen 2 and Lewis Lake. Finally Ash Groundsell brouht his shooting boots with him to fire in a hat-trick for Muga in a 5-2 win over Touch Matip. Tim Whittle and Damo Cassford with the other goals.
