In a thrilling start to the East Cowes Sunday 6 a side football league, teams and spectators braced themselves for a promising season packed with gusto and electrifying action. Both the Premier League and Division 1 witnessed exhilarating games and sensational performances.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, Zoe's Law emerged victorious with an impressive 18-2 win over Badder Roma, thanks to a sterling performance by Zak Harris, who netted an extraordinary 10 goals. His remarkable form sees him already leading the top scorer chart for the season in this division. Southern Water FC couldn't hold back the tide against ECS FC, who sailed to a solid 8-3 win. McNeil Deal managed to secure a clean sheet with a 3-0 triumph over Scouting For Goals.
DIVISION ONE
Meanwhile, Division 1 was equally captivating. Zola Eclipse edged past AC Me Rollin' in a nail-biting 5-4 victory. Muga V4 smashed a hefty 12 goals past Kelly Smunt's defense, emerging victorious with a 12-3 win. However, the most thrilling encounter of the evening was between Kick And Collect and Khedira Pin Drop, which saw the latter triumph with a 12-6 win. Owen Connolly from Khedira Pin Drop shone brightly, scoring five times, placing him as the division's top scorer this week.
Throughout the matches, one player stood out among the rest. Jaedan Burrows from ECS FC displayed exceptional skills on the field, earning him the title of the week's Most Valued Player.
As the season has only just begun, it's all to play for in the upcoming matches. Both divisions are teeming with talent, and the teams will have to bring their A-game to the pitch.
