It was so good to be back at Ryde Academy for our popular Thursday night 6 a side league after a 3 week break. The new pitch is incredible, right up there with the best playing surfaces in the area and definitely a huge upgrade for our teams to enjoy.
We welcomed an old side back to the division for the restart with Scouting for Goals eager to be involved with the improved facilities. They were lucky there was a space and we expect spaces in this league to be in high demand so if you are looking to get involved, sign up now and be the next in line to play in this league.
We saw some great games last night with Sat Fesh FC just getting the better of High Park 4 - 3 while Ryde Rovers won 6 - 4 against the leaders Netsix & Chill, opening the door for East Ryde Massive to join them at the top of the table as they adjusted quickly to the new 3G playing surface, putting 13 past Vectis Rovers who could only manage 1 in reply. Scouting for Goals had a positive start to their return, winning 6 - 3 against Goldies.
In Division One it's Ashton Villa that lead following a good 9 - 3 win over Getting on a Bit, Asa Gough amongst the goals with 5 for The Villa. Interurnan overcame Chamakh 4 - 2 and Butlins Bandits won 12 - 5 against Cool Runnings, 4 goals each for Aaron Doncaster. Shane Kettle and James Dijkstra while Cool Runnings captain Pete Brown bagged a hattrick for his side. Roverners picked up a points win as Salters pulled out late on.
Cheers to Jukesy, Nick and Chris for their efforts on the whistles, great to be back and looking forward to next Thursday already...
