A big thank to all the teams down at our Ryde Thursday 6 a side league last night which saw the start of our top goalscorer feature. So will your strikers become greedy to win the golden boot or play for the team?
At the top of the table Geezas Return took another big step towards retaining their title as they beat Wight United 5-0 with Joe, Jordan and Duncan Love all getting on the score sheet. This allowed them to extend their lead at the top to 5 points due to a surprise defeat for Salt & Pepe who went down 7-6 in an entertaining match with Class On Ash. With both teams exchanging goals right until the end Class On Ash managed to make it 7-6 and hang on for the win. Joss Atkins with 3 goals and Rich Scott with 4. There was a points match win for Roverners which moves them up to 6th, remember if you do have a points match then goalscorers do still count however many you score even though result only goes in a 5-0, obviously we would prefer not to have points matches but at least it puts more on it. Robert Jackson took advantage of this with 5 goals on the night to become to goalscorer.
Chamakh My Pitch closed the gap on Salt & Pepe to just one point as they won 6-3 against Butlins Bandits. Jordan Stacey with a brace for Butlins while Thomas Miller and Alex Vernau got a couple each for Chamakh. Finally Getting On A Bit got back to winning ways this week as they took on Vectis Rovers and won 5-2 to move level on points with Rovers.
Thank you to all teams and see you next week. We do have one available space in the league for a new team to start now. If interested please contact Rich on 07969731086 or register for free at the link below:
