RYDE 6 A SIDE ROUND UP

What a fantastic night of 6 a side we witnessed last night at Ryde Academy as our Thursday night teams continued to enjoy the quality 3G surface to show off their abilities as week 4 threw up a brilliant mix of tension and excitement for our teams. The results sometimes don't do the games justice and that was definitely the case in the top flight match between league leaders Sat Fesh and rivals Scouting for Goals. On paper a 9 - 2 win looks fairly comfortable for Sat Fesh but it was anything but with both sides leaving it all out there in a game that was played hard but fair and was brilliantly officiated by ref Pete. Just after half time Scouting levelled the game at 2 - 2 and it was only in the last 5 mins that their heads went allowing Sat Fesh to rack up a far larger margin of victory than than Scouting deserved to face. A great game that was a pleasure to watch, fair play to both sides and well done to Paddy O'Meara for netting 5 for Sat Fesh. I can't ignore the fact that we had a rare keeper goal in this game too. Near the end, Connor Venn took the ball on the edge of his box and carried it to the half way line where he unleased a bit of a rocket to beat Harry Mitchell in the Scouting goal. In the after game banter, Harry claims he let it in, the video is on FB to see so you decide! Elsewhere in the prem there was a good match up between 3rd placed Goldies and Chamakh. Chamakh were missing a few regulars but put up some excellent resistance against a decent Goldies side who had James Connor's 4 goals backed up by a hattrick from veteran Jamie Dyer ;) to thank for the 9 - 3 win, Liam Pearce netting twice for Chamakh but they still search for their 1st points of the season. Next week Chamakh face fellow strugglers Ryde Galacticos who will also be looking to kick off their season after going down 8 - 3 to Guns n Moses last night. New signing Harrison Taylor, returning to the league after a summer break scored twice for Galacticos but Guns n Moses were too strong, scoring 8 themselves to maintain their impressive start to the season. Stevie Thorpe and captain Asa Gough both bagged hattricks to set them up nicely for a big one next week when they face leaders Sat Fesh in what is now a huge game in the shaping of the season.

Division One also served up some amazing games, leaders Khedira had to work hard for their points against Butlins Bandits, Harry Scott scoring twice to eventually give his team the win 5 - 4 in a match that was typically end to end and full of passion from both teams, Andy on the whistle for this one and had another excellent game. Roverners sit 2nd following a defeat to the incredibly enthusiastic Milfclarters Utd, another great game that swung both ways throughout, eventually the youthful legs of Milfcarters just outrunning Roverners to take the points 8 - 6. So good to have some young, energetic teams involved, it brings a fresh feel to the league and the energy they bring is infectious. Both Milfcarters and Ladzio are great additions to the set up at Ryde. Ladzio themselves are in improving team, and played a huge part in what was an entertaining match with the experienced Vectis Rovers. Rovers played well though and scored 9 to pick up the win and hold onto 3rd place. Well played to Finley Reed though for scoring himself a hattrick for Ladzio, 9 - 3 the score in this one, great to watch though.

So well done to all our teams, I was able to capture quite a bit of the action on film, including "that" goal from Connor Venn so check out the FB group for a load of the goals and make sure you tag yourselves in the videos.

See you all next week guys, have a great week !
