We have clear leaders at the top of the prem in our exciting Thursday night 6 a side league from Ryde Academy following last night round 8 fixtures.
The night saw a tough 1st game for our newest side Sheffield Thursday who came up against a Ryde Rovers side looking to secure the title. In a game that was played in great spirit the experienced Rovers side proved far too strong, taking away a big win and in doing so opening up a two point gap at the top of the table. East Ryde Massive were beaten by the inform defending champions Netsix & Chill who played some lovely stuff on their way to the 4 - 1 win that keeps them 4th. Crouchy regained their mojo this week having had a few poor results, bouncing back with a big win over Vectis Rovers, Ben Cutts finding the net 5 times only to be outshone by Harry Symes who got 7. Tough night for Vectis who look like they might be happy to go back to Division One next season. The final game in the top flight saw Sat Fesh put in a great performance against Roverners. 13 - 3 the score in this one, Nick Chessel bagging 4 and Cian Cowey a hattrick to leave their side in 3rd place as we enter the 2nd half of the season.
Division One keeps serving up exciting, competitive games and we had 4 more of them this week. Khedira beat Goonies 10 - 5 James Gallop on form with 4, backed up by a Michael Jenkins hattrick. Goonies suffered from losing Jamie Dyer to injury early on but 2 goals from Mark Grafham kept them in the game, this one was closer than the score suggests. Scouting had to work had for the points against a good Inter side. 2 Goals from Ryan Phillips & Matt Bennett along with a hattrick for James Gallop giving the league leaders a win. Great effort from Inter though... Chamakh got the better of Getting on a Bit 9 - 5 thanks to 4 from Adam Jupe, a win that lifts them off the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, Venom City put themselves in a great position to push for promotion with a 10 - 6 win over Butlins Bandits, they now sit 3rd, 2 points behind Butlins and 2 ahead of Khedira.
Great night of games, highlights were the headed own goal from Dan Bonner which I promised i'd mention and James Gallop scoring 7 goals on the night but letting in far more in his one game in goal!
See you all next week...
