It was a bit of an unusual start to the nights games at Ryde last night with Hant's FC unfortunately getting the time wrong and not appearing for their 7pm kick off. This gave Royal Mail-Drid a 5 - 0 win and a game of 4 a side between themselves, expertly reffed by Nick of course. The defeat for Hants gave Khedira the opportunity to push ahead and nail down the 2nd promotion place but a poor display from them against Milfclarters means they also remain on 14 points with the young Milfclarters side now in with a great chance of promotion themselves, sitting just a point behind and with a far superior goal difference than both Hants and Khedira. The Milfs now have a double header against Hants while Khedira must face champions elect Butlins Bandits twice, it's going to be really interesting to see who what happens over the remaining 3 weeks of the Division One season. Butlins are well on course for the title and it was another good night for them last night with a convincing win over Chamakh, new signings Jarred Fisher and Joe Fallone both having an immediate impact and with 2 more goas from league top scorer Josh Aspinall they came away with a 10 - 3 win in the bag and more than one hand on the trophy. Elsewhere in the division an improving Grand Theft Porto side had an amazing end to end battle with Vectis Rovers. Sam Utteridge's hat-trick made the difference as Vectis won it 7 - 5 but GTP are making progress and will no doubt be a stronger force next season.
In the top flight there was an awkward game for leaders Sat Fesh this week. Missing key defenders Tom Allen and KJ Warrington they struggled through the 1st half against a resourceful Roverners team before edging in front mid way through the 2nd period to claim another important 2 points in their quest to retain their title. The lead remains 3 points with Puyol also winning in their game against Ryde Galacticos, 7 - 4 the final score in an open and entertaining game from start to finish. Guns n Moses also came away with the points in their high scoring match up with Goldies, the win keeps them 3rd but with a 6 point gap to Puyol in 2nd it looks like that's as good as they can expect to finish this time around. Goldies slip back into the bottom two alongside Kirbs Return who went down 8 - 2 against Unathletico Madrid and are now resigned to playing Div One football next season.
