In the thrilling finale of the Ryde Thursday 6-a-side Football League, the week 10 matches proved to be a culmination of high-voltage action and breath-taking performances. The Premier League and Division 1 saw their respective champions rise with unvanquished spirits and consistent play.
Ivory Toast reigned supreme in the Premier League Division, ending the season with 18 points and an impressive tally of 9 wins. This was solidified with their stunning victory against Crown FC in the final week, where they triumphed with a score of 7-3. Crown take the runners up place and will look to regain their title next season. Puyol finish a very respectable 3rd ahead of Roverners in 4th who survived the threat of relegation with a big win on the final night, Rob Jackson topping up his goal scoring efforts with 9 in his teams 17-0 win against Division One bound Double Pogba & Koke. Also taking the drop are Hardly Athletic who will look to regroup and bounce back from the division that they were champions of just a few seasons ago. Jackson takes the golden boot award with 16 goals ahead of Pat O'Meara of Crown who scored 11 in another prolific campaign in front of goal.
Meanwhile, in Division 1, long standing Vectis Rovers secured the title with a total of 16 points and 8 wins. Defeat on the final night to a strong Ryde Rovers side did little to dampen the spirits of the team who have enjoyed their most successful season and will look to build on this as they head to the premier league next week. Kyle Follows found his scoring boots on the final night as Khedira Pin Drop III ended strongly with a 12 - 4 win over Chamakh. Follows 7 goals will no doubt raise the eyebrows of opposing captains, will Khedira be able to hang onto their talisman for another season ? Wonkers rounded of a brilliant season with a 7 - 4 win over Manchester Obe City to take the runners up place in the division. Adam Jupe collects the golden boot, despite his teams league position, Jupe has consistently performed and regularly found the back of the net to finish the season with 16 goals and a well deserved accolade for his efforts.
Sam Higgin of Crown also has reason to celebrate having been awarded the seasons MVP medal for his 3 MotM awards through the season. Well done Sam on another strong season.
