It was a challenging night this week down at Ryde Academy for week 13 of our brilliant season of 6 a side football. Our teams all arrived in anticipation of wearing our brand new team themed bibs which looked incredible on all the sides that gave them a go.
Our 1st round of games saw league leaders Sat Fesh pushed all the way by Milfclarters with only a late strike from MotM Brad Austin sealing the win 5 - 4 for the Champions. On the other pitch play was sadly cut short following a nasty knee pop to Henry Allen of Moleiceters. The score was 2 - 2 at the time so the teams share the points but Henry's welfare became everyone's priority and play was suspended on pitch two while we waited for an ambulance to arrive. This meant that unfortunately the following game between Chamakh and Royal Mail Drid had to be cancelled as a 0 - 0 draw before we were able to resume the with just a delayed start to the next game between Goldies and Vectis Rovers. Goldies went on to win comfortably with Jamie Dyer topping up his seasons tally with with 4 in the 10 - 1 win. Mighty View then filled their boots against Khedera Pin Drop, taking home the points in a 9 - 3 win while Kirbs Return did the same against Grand Theft Porto, also winning 9 - 3. Pitch One then had two 7 - 4 scores, Puyol getting the better of Roverners and Ryde Rovers winning well against Team Best Friends.
Thanks to everyone who was involved this week, especially all those that showed patience and care for Henry while proceedings were delayed, we all wish Henry a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to Ryde Academy as soon as possible.
Next week we wrap up the season before kicking off our brand new campaign on Thursday 15th June, good luck to everyone for the season finale.
