Played in great spirit and a friendly atmosphere, the latest round of the Ryde Thursday 6 a side Football League took place last night and the players showcased an exhilarating display of skills and tactics throughout the evening. The action unfolded in the 6th week of our ongoing season with impressive performances across the Premier League and Division 1.
In the Premier League, Crown FC put on an awe-inspiring performance, despite missing their leader & talisman Connor Venn, out with a bit of a sore leg, they went to task on a much depleted Youth Offending Team. Pat O'Meara was his usual ruthless self in front of goal, netting double figures himself as the defending champions give a significant boost to their goal difference with a massive 27-2 victory. Elsewhere in the division things were much closer with Hardly Athletic making it back to back wins with a 3 - 2 victory over Roverners while Leaders Ivory Toast came from behind to snatch a win over Puyol Pants Down.
In Division 1, Vectis Rovers outshone Chamakh My Pitch Up with a 7-2 victory. The game between Wonkers and Ryde Rovers FC was a high-scoring match with both sides giving games to some new or returning faces. Ryde Rovers FC bagging a 9-6 win at the final whistle. In the face-off between Khedira Pin Drop III and Manchester Obe City, Khedira Pin Drop III cruised to an 8-1 victory with Kyle Follows netting 4 goals, his 1st since his big money move from Hardly Athletic.
