It was fantastic to finally welcome teams back to our Sandown Bay Academy 6 a side league as lockdown restrictions were eased yesterday. It's been a tough year and it was great to see all 12 teams back in action. Let's hope that's it now, please no more lockdowns.
So we start our round up with the long awaited title decide, Jukesy in the middle for this one, serious stuff as last seasons champions She Was Only XI took on Deportivo Lacafitness. It was a keenly contested battle with some great football on show from two brilliant sides but it was Deportivo's turn this season as they narrowly took the win 2-1 to be crowned Sandown Monday Premier League Champions for the first time. Trophy celebrations when we return after Easter on the 12th April.
We round up the other results now as two new sides faced each other with Jehov FC taking the win over Weekend On 4-1. Moleicesters eased to a 4-0 win over Bayer Neverlosen while Ashton Villa FC returned with a 3-0 victory against Touch Matip. The other two results saw big wins for Scouting for Goals and Hogs Legends.
We are extending the league and moving to two divisions next season. One thing that has been a feature this season is some huge wins for teams at the top over teams at the bottom. As you will agree not good for either team to be honest so the split into 2 divisions will hopefully cut down on these big scorelines going forward.
We do also have an opportunity to increase the number of teams from 12 to 16 with some extra pitch time now available so any new teams looking to enter can register for free at the link below or contact Rich on 07969 731086 with any questions:
