New Sandown Monday 6 a side season kicks off

It was really good to see all teams in attendance to kick off the new season at our Sandown Monday 6 a side league. A couple of teams let us down towards the end of last season which was frustrating so have now been removed. We are also pleased to announce that another new team is joining the league to fill it up from next week. All the matches looked competitive which is good to see. Team's will play each other once this season then we will split back into two divisions for next season.

There's not a lot you can read into the league table after week one but the champions Jehov FC got themselves off to a winning start as they defeated Six Offenders 4-2. Last season's top scorer George Carter-Knight was on the goal trail again as he scored a brace while Morgan Perrin and Nathan James also found the back of the net for Jehov. Former champions She Was Only XI won 7-4 against The Crown Crew as Kyle Drew was the man with the golden touch in front of goal scoring 4 to add to strikes from Harris and Knowles 2. Johnson, Hopewell and Clinton 2 responded for The Crown Crew.

Ashton Villa FC won a tight match with Weekend On 4-3 while Tinchy Sneijder defeated Eye Of The Tiger 7-4. Henry West scoring a hat-trick while Shay Dixon 2, Kyle Bull and Tommy Jackson got the others. In reply for Tiger were Dave Church 2, Keith Ruth and Paul Cooper. Asa Gough lead by example as he fired a double for Teenage Mutant Ninja Skertals as they beat new team Leavemyarcelona 6-3. Squibb, Freemantle, Lines and White with the other goals. Finally another new Khedira Pin Drop II picked up a points match win with the other new boys not able to start until next week.
