The league, split into two divisions: the Premier League and Division 1, saw a number of thrilling encounters and individual performances that kept us all on the edge of our seats.
In the Premier League, Sat Fesh FC emerged victorious over league leaders JJ FC in a nail-biting match that ended 5-4. In another highly charged encounter, Unreal Madrid II gave themselves a chance at lifting the title as they triumphed over No More Cap Fc 9-6 The two top sides meet next week and a big win for Unreal would see them as champions.
Switching gears to Division 1, Pukki Blinders demonstrated their football prowess by defeating Eye Of The Tiger with an 11-3 win. Pukki are crusing to the top flight and will be crowned as champions next week before taking on the challenge of the premier league next season. In a closely contested match, Epsteins Islanders managed to edge past Simply Sixtoes with a score of 3-2 to make them favourites to join Pukki in at the top table, while in another game, Hayleys Comets claimed victory over Westys Wanderers with a 7-4 result.
The star of the evening undoubtedly was Rick Murthwaite from Eye of the Tiger. Despite the team’s loss, Murthwaite's performance on the pitch was noted by all, leading to him being named the most valued player of the week. His exploits were a silver lining for Eye of the Tiger amidst their defeat.
As the league moves into its tenth and final week, the teams will be looking to build on their performances and we can expect plenty more exciting football from the Sandown Monday 6 a side league.
