The 9th week of the Sandown Monday 6-a-side football league came to a thrilling conclusion last night, with some impressive matches in both the Premier League and Division 1.
In the Premier League, Digestive RobNobs narrowly defeated Pukki Blinders in a tightly contested match with a score of 5-4. The standout player for Digestive RobNobs was Chandler Builth, who topped the scoring charts for the division with a hat-trick of goals, firmly establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with on the field.
Another high-adrenaline match saw JJ FC edge out Hung Like A Bony 8-7, while Unreal Madrid II, boasting this week's most valued player, Nick Chessell, secured a 3-2 victory over No More Cap FC. Chessell's exceptional performance was a key factor in his team's success, earning him the much-deserved MVP title.
Over in Division 1, Khedira Pin Drop II triumphed over Eye Of The Tiger with a strong 5-2 win. SGN FC demonstrated their dominance with an 11-4 victory over Westys Wanderers, and The Bees Knees outplayed Simply Sixtoes 8-4. The top scorer in Division 1 was The Bees Knees' Barry Calvert, who netted an impressive four goals.
As the league moves into its 10th week, the competition remains fierce, and the players to watch are undoubtedly Premier League's Chandler Builth and Division 1's Barry Calvert. However, the standout player of this week was undoubtedly Nick Chessell of Unreal Madrid II, whose performance has set a high standard for the coming weeks.
