JJ FC effectively sealed the title last night in our Sandown 6 a side league as they maintained their 4 point lead over The Six Offenders with both sides winning comfortably. There were goals galore in both matches with JJ FC winning their game with Retro's Ready For Yea 16 - 7 and The Six Offenders almost matching it with a 14 - 7 win of their own against Two Girls One FA Cup. The other game in the top flight saw Jehov get past Hold This Woodwork 8 - 5.
Division One is slightly closer at the top with a two point gap in favour of Hardly Athletic over Wet Dogs. Again, both teams won this week as the two horse race goes on. Hardly are in the driving seat obviously following their 17 - 4 win over Pukki Blinders but Wet Dogs beating Applepie Turnovers 7 - 4 means that nothing is decided just yet, especially as the top two meet next week. Wet Dogs superior goal difference means that a win for them next time out makes them the favourites going into the final week but if Hardly win, they will be crowned Division One champions. Either way, both sides will be playing prem football next season. Eye of the Tiger did a great job to pull a side together despite a number of key players being out injured or unwell and they still managed a good win against Make Emile Of It 12 - 5.
Thanks to everyone for a great night of games, looking forward to a strong end to the season here.
Don't forget about our Isle of Wight 6 a side tournament being held in Cowes on Sunday 17th July. If you haven't registered yet get in touch and see if there are any spaces left, it's going to be a brilliant event.
