The Salisbury Monday 6-A-Side Football League kicked off this week, promising excitement and flair in the coming season. The inaugural games of Division 1 and Division 2 left us on the edge of our seats, witnessing an exceptional display of competitive spirit and skill on the field.
Division 1 started with a nail-biting face-off between SCS All Stars and Elite FC with the former edging a victory with a 3-2 win. The second game saw Man Titty comfortably outplaying Beme Vets with a 4-1 victory. Highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Callum Roberts from Man Titty, who distinguished himself by topping the scoring charts with an impressive two-goal haul.
The excitement in Division 2 was equally palpable. Winless FC fell to Backyard UTD 1-3, while Hotspire FC demolished The Misfits in a staggering 15-0 victory. Pique Blinders and Petra FC also emerged victoriously against Dad Bods and Lads and Dads respectively.
Louis Campbell from Hotspire FC made an impressive start to the season by claiming the title of top scorer in Division 2 with a spectacular five-goal haul.
However, the spotlight of the evening was indisputably on Kieran Barry from Hotspire FC. His exceptional performance on the field, which contributed significantly to his team's victory, earned him the title of the most valued player of the week.
As the season unfolds, we are looking forward to more thrilling matches and outstanding performances from our teams and players.
