In an electrifying week 7 of the Salisbury Monday Football League, we were treated to a display of skill, grit, and sheer determination. The teams battled it out in their respective divisions, Division 1 and Division 2, with some standout performances setting the pace for the rest of the season.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, 2 Girls 1 Klopp dominated the field with a decisive 5-2 victory over Elite FC. The star of the match was Charlie Canty who, with his exceptional performance, netted two goals for 2 Girls 1 Klopp, earning him the title of top scorer in Division 1 for the week. Meanwhile, SCS All Stars edged out The Goofy Slugs in a thrilling match that ended 4-3 in favour of the All-Stars.
DIVISION TWO
Over in Division 2, Kinky Ballers pulled a narrow 3-2 victory over Dad Bods, demonstrating their tenacity and skill. Winless FC also emerged victorious against Lads And Dads with a 3-1 scoreline. The standout player in this division was Peter Lidstone-Scott of Winless FC, who with his stellar performance, scored two goals, making him the top scorer in Division 2.
However, the glory of the week went to Bailey Allen of Kinky Ballers, who was named the league's most valued player this week. Allen put on an exemplary performance, demonstrating both leadership and a high level of skill on the pitch. His influence was instrumental in Kinky Ballers' victory.
These matches mark a pivotal point in the league, setting the tone for the remaining 3 weeks. As we march further into the season, the teams in both divisions are expected to bring even more intensity to their games. The thrilling performances of this week have set the bar high - and all eyes will be on next week's matches.
