Play in the Shrewsbury Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
In an electrifying week 5 of the Shrewsbury Monday 6-a-side Football League, teams from the Premier League and Division 1 divisions battled it out under the floodlights, serving up a spectacle of goals and outstanding individual performances.
In the Premier League division, FC BACK OF THE NETO narrowly edged out WBS FC in a closely contested match, ending with a scoreline of 2-1. The result sent them top of the division with goals from Charlie and George cancelling out a fine strike from WBS' Eddie.
Tony's Tigers roared back into form with a remarkable 8-1 victory over Hardly Athletic, leaving no questions about their dominance. A fine hatrick from Joel Brown was the highlight of the match as his teammates also helped themselves to goals against an unusually lackluster Athletic.
Passion FC kept themselves in title contention with a thrilling 3 2 comeback victory over TK Maxx Club De Futbol. Goals from Alex, Craig and Rich were enough to bag the points with Robbie and Josh netting for TK Maxx.
In Division 1, KFC emerged victorious against FC Shrewbacca with a clean sheet, triumphing 4-0. A stunning treble from Jay saw his side to victory as Shrewbacca missed a number of chances to get on the scoresheet.
The most eye-catching performance of the evening came from Manj Dog who outplayed Halfway Wanderers, registering a commanding 11-1 victory. Jack Davies from Manj Dog was in a league of his own, firing in an impressive 5 goals, earning him the title of top scorer in the Division 1. His extraordinary performance didn't stop at scoring goals, as his overall contribution to the game led him to be named as the most valued player of the week. Another 4 goals from the equally dangerous Charlie ensured his side were comfortable winners on the night and maintained their promotion spot.
As we look forward to week 6, the performance of these top scorers and their respective teams will be keenly watched by both spectators and opposition alike. With the stakes getting higher each week, the Shrewsbury Monday Football League continues to provide enthralling action on the pitch.
