The thrilling action continued in the Premier League division of the Shrewsbury College Monday League as we wrapped up an eventful week four last night. The matches ended with some quite astonishing results, and the excitement was at its peak throughout the games.
In the first game of the night, Barely Athletic faced off against Football Team, culminating in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Both teams fought hard, demonstrating their resilience with neither team willing to back down.
The exhilaration continued as Six Offenders locked horns with league leaders SVR in what turned out to be another nail-biting 2-2 draw. Both teams showcased their mettle, leaving the spectators in awe of the talent on display. In an end-to-end match, both teams had opportunities to secure victory but eventually had to settle for a draw leaving SVR needing only 1 more point to secure the title in next week's final round of games.
The evening's final match saw WBS FC face off against Shrewsbury Sixes with WBS displaying an impressive performance with a commanding 6-0 victory. As in previous games, Sixes fought well, keeping the scoreline close until the final stages when WBS pulled away with a number of quickfire goals.
At the heart of WBS FC's triumph was the phenomenal display by Josh Lewis-Duckett. Lewis-Duckett was simply unstoppable, netting a total of three goals, securing his position as the top scorer of the Premier League division for the week. His exceptional performance also earned him the title of the Most Valued Player of the week, an accolade that is well deserved given his contribution to his team's victory.
