Fantastic Action On Week 3 of Shrewsbury Monday 6-a-side
In a thrilling week of football, Shrewsbury's Monday 6-a-side League reached its third round with some intense matches and praiseworthy performances. Fans were treated to an exhibition of skill, determination, and team spirit in both the Premier League and Division 1.
In the Premier League, the match between Barely Athletic and FC BACK OF THE NETO ended in a 1-1 draw. George Armstrong of FC BACK OF THE NETO shone brightly, scoring a critical goal to join the race for the division's golden boot. In the earlier match. SVR and Six Offenders clashed in an engaging match, with the latter emerging victorious to keep themselves clear at the top courtesy of a 2-0 win. Goals from Sean A and Lewis secured their side the victory. SVR, missing some key players, are yet to taste victory this season and will hope to secure themselves a win in the coming weeks to ease relegation fears.
In Division 1, the night was lit up by high-scoring encounters. Crawlers FC suffered a crushing defeat to Tony's Tigers, in a 2-7 scoreline. Tigers playmaker Archie bagged himself an impressive hatrick as the league's latest addition once again showed their class. In the evening's early match, West Shropshire FC managed to secure a tight 2-1 win over FC Shrewbacca. It was a vital victory for the young side as their finishing had let them down in defeats in their first 2 matches. Mo was particularly impressive, showing great touches as he built numerous attacks for his side. However, the match of the evening was between TERNHILL RANGERS and The Other Team. League leaders TERNHILL RANGERS clinched an impressive 8-2 victory with star player, Massey, netting an impressive four goals, making him the top scorer in Division 1. However,it was certainly not all plain sailing for Ternhill as the revitalised Other Team started strongly and lead 2-1 at half time courtesy of fine goals from Huw and Reece. Ternhill however turned on the style in the second half and went through the gears to secure a handsome victory.
