Play in the Shrewsbury Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
In the second week of the Shrewsbury Monday 6-a-side Football League, both Premier League and Division 1 saw intense matches, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats.
In the Premier League Division, Tony's Tigers delivered a resounding 5-0 victory over FC BACK OF THE NETO. Their victory was led by the league's top scorer, Joel Brown, who scored an impressive five goals in a display of clinical finishing. Tiger's win fired a warning to their opponents with Neto perhaps feeling a little hard done to as the scoreline did not reflect their efforts in the match.
In another Premier League match, SVR and WBS FC fought to a 1-1 stalemate, demonstrating the high level of competition and parity in the league. Both sides had their chances with well-taken goals from SVR's Eddie and WBS' Josh ensuring the sides could not be split on this occasion.
Meanwhile, another nail-biting match unfolded in Division 1, as Halfway Wanderers faced off against FC Shrewbacca. Neither team gave an inch, and the match ended in a 3-3 draw. Aiden from Halfway Wanderers emerged as the top scorer for Division 1, contributing all three goals for his team in a display of excellent finishing. Reece put in an a fantastic performance for Shrewbacca, scoring 2 terrific goals including a sweetly struck volley but it wasn't enough to separate the sides on this occasion.
The second week of the Shrewsbury Monday 6-a-side Football League concluded with riveting action and spectacular player performances. As the league progresses, we are eager to see how the remaining weeks will unfold. Undoubtedly, they’ll be watching for more dazzling performances from players like Joel Brown, Aiden and Reece who have already made their mark on this season.
Tigers currently lead the way in the Premier division with Passon FC and WBS just 1 point behind. In Division 1, Hardly and Barely Athletic lead the division with 2 wins apiece from 2 games played.
