Play in the Shrewsbury Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

In a thrilling kickoff to the Shrewsbury Monday 6 a side Football league, teams in the Premier League Division and Division 1 battled it out last night, marking the start of the highly anticipated new season.

In the Premier League Division, an intense game between pre-season favourites Tony's Tigers and current champions FC BACK OF THE NETO ended in a 2-2 stalemate. Both teams put on an impressive display, demonstrating their determination for the season ahead. Goals from Charlie and Lewis for Tigers and Charlie and Sam for Neto ensured the spoils were shared with both sides looking good for the season ahead.

Meanwhile, Barely Athletic locked horns with WBS FC in a highly competitive game that also ended in a draw with no goals from either side. Despite the goal-less match, WBS had numerous chances to secure victory with Barely goalkeeper Harry Perks putting in a warrior-like display to keep his side level. WBS will kick themselves for missing a number of good chances but can be happy with their strong performance to start off the season. Barely made life extremely tough as usual and will be a difficult side to play against this season like always.

In the evening's friendly match,  Ternhill Rangers faced off against new boys Bumfica with Bumfica securing a 4-1 victory.

Meanwhile In Division 1, FC Shrewbacca fell just short against relegated SVR, with the latter securing a 2-1 victory. Goals from Jack and captain Alex secured SVR the victory in a full bloodied affair with Shrewbacca replying through Luke. "The Bacca Boys" battled to get back into the game but couldn't find an equaliser. Both these sides will look to make a promotion charge this season.

In the evening's second match, Passion FC's played out a convincing 4-0 victory over Halfway Wanderers. Spearheading the triumph was Rob of Passion FC, who scored an exceptional total of 3 goals, setting a high standard for the rest of the season. Halfway had chances of their own but ultimately could not break down Passion's defence.

The first week of the season has set the stage for an exciting competition ahead. The upcoming games will undoubtedly be filled with more heart-stopping moments, extraordinary goals, and outstanding performances as the teams continue to vie for the top spot in their respective divisions.
