The Shrewsbury Monday Six-A-Side Football League kicked off its season last night, with teams in the Premier League division showcasing an exhilarating display of talent and team spirit. The league promises a thrilling season ahead, filled with high-paced action, spectacular goals, and remarkable individual performances.

In the Premier League division, SVR began their campaign on a high note, securing a commanding 5-1 victory over Barely Athletic. The team's stellar performance was underpinned by player of the match, Eddie Whitehouse-Jones, who's high energy performance was instrumental in SVR's emphatic win. A special mention however goes out to Barely Athletics's Ellis who scored the goal of the evening, rifling a long range effort into the top corner.

In the other evening's clash between Shrewsbury Sixes and Mongdem FC it ended in a hard-fought 2-2 draw. Both teams exhibited resilience and a competitive spirit in an end to end classic full of fast-paced action. Both sides had opportunities to win it in the dying moments but had to eventually settle for a point a piece.

As the season has just started, there is still everything to play for. The initial matches have set an electrifying tone for the rest of the season, with the teams vying for supremacy in the Premier League division. We would like to thank all our teams who attended for creating a fantastic atmosphere for our first night at our new venue and displaying such competitive spirit in both games.
