Shrewsbury Monday 6 a side news 2023-09-18

The Shrewsbury Monday league's second week proved to be a thrilling affair with SVR emerging as the clear league leader with victory over Shrewsbury Sixes. The game began as a tight affair but SVR eventually got into their stride and asserted their dominance with a flurry of goals in the second half. Shrewsbury Sixes battled hard but ultimately ran out of energy allowing SVR to add to the scoreline late on. This victory sets the pace for the rest of the season, making SVR the team to watch and the one to beat in the upcoming weeks.

The star of the night and the main driving force behind SVR's victory was none other than Rob Wallace. The player put in an impressive performance on the pitch, scoring a total of 3 goals, making him the top scorer in the Premier League division. It wasn't just the number of goals that made Wallace stand out but his overall contribution to the game.

In the nights second game, Barely Athletic and Football Team played out an entertaining friendly game with Barely Athletic eventually coming out on top in a fiercely competitive match.

This week's games have set an exciting tone for the rest of the season. With teams like SVR showing their strength and the other teams gaining match fitness, the upcoming weeks of the Premier League division in the Shrewsbury Monday league promises much more entertaining action.

We now welcome a new team, Six Offenders, to our league from next Monday and wish Ben and the lads luck for the coming season and beyond.
