Monday 10th January - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance barring Werder Beermen who we've now removed from the league immediately as this was their second failure to attend in a row.

On a positive note, we welcomed new team ABCDE FC to the league this week, they went into Division One and picked up an impressive 4-0 win over We Lose Evra Week.  

It is getting tight at the top of the Premier Division as the top three are separated by just a single point.  This follows leaders Phoenix dropping a point as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Crouch Potato.  Tics on Toure's 5-0 win and Shamgwop Rovers impressive 7-4 win over Woodgreen sees the leaders lead reduce to that solitary point, making for an exciting end to the season.

Division One is led by Chateuneuf Du Pape and they made it 10 without defeat this week as they thrashed Woo Town Wanderers by a 7-1 scoreline.  Second placed Route One Rovers were also in fine form in front of goal as they beat newcomers Malvern Massive by a whopping 10-2 score line.  Inter Ya Nan remain in mid-table following their 4-1 victory against bottom of the table Plunger & Superglue.

The promotion race in Division Two is hotting up as only three points separate the top four, with the top three being within a single point of each other!  Who Ate All Depays stay top of the table and knocked Hayley's Beanie Boys down to fourth place after beating them by a convincing 5-2 score line.  Second placed General Sports Enthusiasts put in an impressive performance too, as they swept aside Gerryhattricks by 5 goals to 0, whilst Goals Aloud moved up to fourth place with a single goal victory over Balt J FC.
